How to report a watermark the tool cannot handle, flag a bug, or ask about the removal engine.

Reporting an image the tool cannot clean
This is the most useful thing you can send us. If a Gemini or Nano Banana image comes back as "no watermark found" — or the mark is still visible after processing — that usually means Google changed the overlay, and the engine needs recalibrating.
When reporting, it helps enormously to include:
- The image dimensions (e.g. 1024×1024). Detection selects the watermark mask from the image size, so this is the first thing to check.
- Which product generated it — the Gemini app, Google AI Studio, Google Flow, or an API.
- Whether the file is an original download. Screenshots, re-saves and images that have passed through a messaging app no longer match the original overlay geometry, and cannot be recovered by this method.
Engine issues
The removal engine is the open-source gemini-watermark-remover project. Problems with detection or restoration quality are usually best reported there, since fixes land in the engine itself and reach every tool built on it — including this one.
Before you write
A few answers that come up constantly:
- SynthID cannot be removed. It is embedded during generation, not composited on top. No tool removes it without degrading the image, and this one does not attempt to.
- Nothing is uploaded. If you are asking us to look at an image you processed, we never received it — you will need to send it to us explicitly.
- The tool is free with no limits. There is no account to recover, no subscription to cancel and no payment to refund.
Reaching us
Use the email address listed in the site footer. We read everything, but this is a small free project — replies are not guaranteed and are rarely fast. Bug reports with concrete details get priority over general questions.
